BEHIND THE SCENES
The term “paradigm shift” comes to mind when describing ItsArtNotStuff’s mission to actively pursue a major change in society’s thought pattern regarding “Starving Artists.” This “Shift” is already happening as more and more visual artists recognize the internet as a viable avenue to level the playing field in their ability to reach previously unreachable audiences. Artists have already begun to make critical use of the internet to explore new avenues for promoting their artwork. It is not uncommon to find visual artists profile pages on MySpace and Facebook – which have proven themselves to be tried and true social networking web sites. However, through a niched site such as ItsArtNotStuff visual artists can finally develop a tight niched and defined fan base to help them thrive and reach new personal achievement. Our society has benefited from the artwork of visual artists over the centuries, and now we have the opportunity to support such artists in their quest to take their work and lives to the next level. ItsArtNotStuff’s objective during the design and development phase was to create a website that creatively captures expressions of art. This web portal’s esthetically designed interactive format makes a good marriage with the site’s functionality, i.e., forums, commentary capabilities, and various components.
Drafton who was the sole developer and designer of ItsArtNotStuff was driven to develop a site where art enthusiasts would feel welcome to participate in this “paradigm shift.” His drive was sparked by a determination to present a professional, interactive online display of his 80 year old grandmother’s quilt art work. Drafton, who hails from the San Francisco Bay Area where he attended the Academy of Art University, San Francisco, Ca, confidently leveraged his12 years of web design and development in creating this enhanced web platform and invites artists and art enthusiasts who are ready for the “Paradigm Shift” to become a member of the site today!
Drafton's much unexpected diagnosis of cancer almost 2 years ago is a driving force in the passion he shows for his work. Drafton, essentially, programmed his way through 12 months of cancer treatment -- through radiation, chemotherapy and several surgeries. It was during this journey that Drafton embraced the philosophy of programming every single day all the while whispering his mantra "build it and they will come!"
Moore, a practicing attorney who resides in the San Francisco Bay Area, partnered with her son, Sir Drafton, in the development of this exciting web portal for visual artists. Moore attributes her passion for the arts to her mother, Dorothy, who Moore describes as an individual who unabashedly embraced her artistic gift of quilt art after all of her children were grown. Moore further shares that her boundless enthusiasm for working with her son is simply because of a "Mother's Love" which was enhanced a thousand fold during his recent cancer journey. Moore is confident that ItsArtNotStuff sets a new standard for internet developers and designers desirous of displaying visual art online.
Besides a Juris Doctorate degree, Moore also holds a Masters in Education and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
Edigin has spent the past 20 years promoting her mother’s quilt artwork, i.e., managing the printing of offset lithographs, organizing art shows, and acting as liaison between consultants and galleries. Edigin, who resides in the San Francisco Bay Area, is excited about ItsArtNotStuff assisting visual artists in achieving their life aspiration. Besides her experience promoting “Dorothy,” Edigin brings over 30 years of professional experience in the financial institution arena to the table in the operations and data management of ItsArtNotStuff. Edigin believes that art expands our horizons, and she heartedly invites artists and enthusiasts alike to participate in the “Shift.”
